The London Borough of Hillingdon is the westernmost borough in London and forms part of Outer London. You can find London Heathrow Airport and also the famous Brunel University in the borough. The borough consists of the following wards: Barnhill, Botwell, Brunel, Cavendish, Charville, Eastcote & East Ruislip, Harefield, Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon East, Ickenham, Manor, Northwood, Northwood Hills, Pinkwell, South Ruislip, Townfield, Uxbridge North, Uxbridge South, West Drayton, West Ruislip, Yeading and Yiewsley. There are more than 239 parks and open spaces across the borough. Because much of the areas is within the Green Belt this is one of the least densely populated London boroughs.
Formed in 1965, the Borough combined areas from Uxbridge, Hayes, Ruislip, Yiewsley and West Drayron of Middlesex. The first name chosen for the borough was Uxbridge and later revised to Hillingdon.
