V4 Sherwood Engineered Oak Flooring, Rustic, Brushed & UV Oiled, 192x15x2350 mm is a tongue and grooved board which can be installed as a floating floor on an underlay or fully bonded with floor adhesive to the subfloor.
The solid oak top layer of this precision milled engineered plank has been fumed to darken the wood giving a deep earthy lustre that comes with ancient oak. The aged aesthetic is given a light brushing to accentuate the grain and then given coats of natural oil which are UV cured for added protection.
This floor is finished with UV cured Danish oil. The UV curing process produces a hard-wearing oiled surface which needs less maintenance than a traditional oiled floors.
Engineered wood flooring may be installed as a floating floor, which means that the boards are joined together and loose laid over the subfloor, instead of being fully bonded with adhesive or secret nailed. This is achieved firstly by laying a 3mm or thicker purpose-made underlay at 90 degrees to the planned direction of the flooring.
