Wood floors laid in a pattern: herringbone and chevron boards, and solid or engineered blocks. Engineered versions suit underfloor heating. Use the filters to narrow by pattern, colour, finish, thickness and brand; herringbone in vinyl and laminate has its own pages below.
Solid or engineered? Solid parquet blocks are the traditional choice and can be sanded and refinished many times. Engineered parquet has a real-wood top layer on a stable core, so it copes with underfloor heating and changes in humidity, and is usually the safer option in kitchens, extensions and over concrete subfloors.
Which pattern? Herringbone suits most rooms and sizes; chevron gives a sharper, more formal line; basket weave, Versailles and mosaic panels suit period properties and larger spaces.
Finish and fitting. Choose between oiled, lacquered and unfinished boards. Most engineered parquet is glued down; some ranges click together. Order free samples to compare colour and grain at home, and call us for a fitted price.
